Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO), which rose 3.79% or 1.53 points to trade at 41.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) added 1.41% or 2.31 points to end at 165.71 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was up 1.09% or 0.13 points to 12.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB), which fell 7.64% or 27.63 points to trade at 334.00 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) declined 3.40% or 1.62 points to end at 46.08 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) was down 3.07% or 4.64 points to 146.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 127 to 97 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 5.90 to $2,661.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.91% or 2.91 to hit $77.29 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $81.12 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 19.29, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.17.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 102.26.
