Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas Producers and General Industrial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were NatWest Group PLC (LON:NWG), which rose 2.61% or 9.80 points to trade at 385.10 at the close. Meanwhile, DS Smith PLC (LON:SMDS) added 2.51% or 13.50 points to end at 552.50 and Frasers Group PLC (LON:FRAS) was up 1.70% or 13.00 points to 780.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hiscox Ltd (LON:HSX), which fell 3.02% or 33.00 points to trade at 1,061.00 at the close. Melrose Industries PLC (LON:MRON) declined 2.73% or 13.30 points to end at 474.20 and Weir Group PLC (LON:WEIR) was down 2.10% or 44.00 points to 2,056.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 926 to 852 and 679 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 6.40 to $2,742.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.62% or 1.82 to hit $71.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.41% or 1.76 to trade at $74.86 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 103.78.
