Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Amplifon (BIT:AMPF), which rose 2.26% or 0.53 points to trade at 24.03 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) added 2.15% or 0.51 points to end at 24.28 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) was up 1.87% or 0.11 points to 6.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which unchanged 1.47% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.23 at the close. Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA (BIT:MDBI) declined 1.18% or 0.17 points to end at 13.81 and Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) was down 0.77% or 0.36 points to 46.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 270 to 216 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.87% or 0.11 to 6.22.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.04% or 0.03 to $68.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.39 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 19.31 to trade at $2,684.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 106.03.
